Can I Quickly Publish an eBook?

Turgay Birand

December 4, 2013

If you want to quickly publish an eBook before the holiday buying season is over, it’s not too late. But it will take dedicated effort on your part to make it happen. Opt for writing a shorter ebook – a how-to, recipe or advice book, or perhaps a short story or children’s book. Regardless of the genre or brevity of your eBook, however, remember to pay attention to customary details. At the minimum, your eBook should contain:
  • A cover image
  • A catchy title
  • Solidly written and proofed content
  • A bio or “about the author” page
  • Links to your blog, website and social media
Optionally, you should include:
  • Table of contents
  • Chapter headings or subheadings
  • Additional images, especially for children’s books
To quickly – yet still successfully – launch an eBook, you’ll need to focus as carefully on your marketing efforts as you do on the content of your eBook. Along with writing your eBook, you should be developing your ebook website, where you can post blogs about the upcoming ebook release. As well, set up your PayPal account (if you don’t already have one), which will allow you to accept payments, and identify your target market. You can push an ebook to market quickly – perhaps even in time for the holidays – if you are diligent and dedicated to getting the project done without delay, but don’t sacrifice quality for speed. Remember: Many people will be receiving e-Reader or tablet devices for Christmas, and they’ll be looking for eBooks to buy in January and February.
